    Long Lake (Sat. Martin Luther King Weekend) Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area. Co–sponsored by the Moonlighters Snowmobile Club. Krazee Decorated Cardboard Box Sled Race, coronation of the King and Queen, Co-Ed Golf Game, Broomball, Fireman Equipment Clothing Relay Race, One-Shot basketball and the Ladies Frying Pan Toss Competition. Cash Prizes. Bonfire and Fireworks round out the day.

    Mike Norris Memorial Ice Fishing Contest – Raquette Lake
    (Last Saturday Jan.) Derby run from the Raquette Lake Fire Hall. Cash prizes, plaques and door prizes. Pre-register at the Tap Room.

    (Presidents Day Weekend) Events for kids and adults. Evening: Tug-of-War, bonfire and fireworks display. Sunday, Noon: Annual cross-cut and chainsaw competition.

    Annual Winterfest – Indian Lake
    (2nd Weekend Feb.) Skiing and snowboarding contests, snowshoe outings, bonfires and fireworks. This weekend is packed with fun for all ages. Come celebrate winter with us!

    Frozen Fire & Lights – Inlet
    (Last Saturday Feb.) Bring the family for a full day of fun! Begins at noon with bonfire & treats at Fern Park where there is free sledding, ice skating snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Then join us at Arrowhead Park at 5pm for a much larger bonfire, free treats & cocoa and a spectacular display of fireworks around 7pm.

    Annual New York Snow Run – Old Forge
    (Feb. 17 & 18) A snowmobile ride for the awareness of breast cancer in men and women sponsored by the Pink Ribbon Riders. The weekend includes a welcoming party, event ride, lunch, dinner party, music & giveaways.

    Winter Wacky Wonderland Week – Long Lake
    (Presidents Day Week) Kids on vacation? Spend it in Long Lake. Special events all week include: Skating, Sledding and fun games.

    Long Lake Adult/Child Ice Fishing Contest – Long Lake
    (1st Saturday Mar.) A fun day for teams of adult and child 15 and under to spend ice fishing on Long Lake, Lake Eaton, Forked Lake or South Pont. Prizes for fish in three categories: Pike, Trout (includes Lake Trout and Land Locked Salmon) and perch. No entry fee.

    Annual St. Paddy’s Parade – Old Forge @ 5pm
    (Friday, March 16, 2018) Participate or watch: synchronized snow plows, wacky grocery cart maneuvers & imaginative locally made floats in this unusual parade.

    Annual Black Fly Challenge Mountain Bike Race – Inlet & Indian Lake
    (Early June) The longest destination race in the eastern U.S.: forty miles through the wild Moose River Recreation Area between Inlet and Indian Lake. The two towns alternate as race start host.

    Annual Northeast Pastel Exhibition – Old Forge

    Adirondack Quilt Camp – Long Lake
    (Late June). Ten teachers, over fifteen classes, workshops and evening programs. Kid’s classes, beginners to expert are welcome. Spend three days quilting with talented artists and friends.

    (Always July 4th) Come to Inlet’s Fern Park and wait for the seaplane to fly overhead and drop ping pong balls on the park’s main field. Hundreds of children race onto the field to collect 3 in exchange for prizes. Great fun for children under the age of 12!     (Columbus Day Weekend in October) The rendezvous is 100% primitive, and only people dressed in period clothing and using period tents will be allowed in. If you don’t camp primitive, you can come visit us on the first Sunday of the event. The visitation day will involve shooting demonstrations and other promotional activities.

    Halloween Happenings – Throughout the region

    (Thanksgiving Weekend) An annual favorite. Local artisans set up in their homes and invite you in to browse their wares. Tour homes, have your child’s photo taken with Father Christmas. Children’s workshops, crafting demonstrations. Tree lighting on Friday.

    AmSnow Dynotech Research New York Shootout – Inlet
    Saturday, December 9, 2017
    Chip & Cindy Sauer's Track, behind the Ole Barn. Gates open at 8 a.m. The shootout starts at 11 a.m. - snow or no snow! The spectator fee is $10. Trail riders can run 660 feet for $10. This event will host the four snowmobile manufacturers: Arctic Cat, Ski-Doo, Yamaha, and Polaris, as well as shop-modified runs. We put the newest stock snowmobiles on the radar gun for the first time to see which one can claim bragging rights as the 2017-18 snowmobile season gets underway. But that's not all! You'll also witness some of North America's top performance shops showcasing their products on Chip & Cindy Sauer's quarter-mile track behind The Ole Barn restaurant. Plenty of food, beverages, and fun to be had. This is one wild snowmobile party you don't want to miss!
